The HIGHQ Vision
We believe that brain-based training can allow for a more holistic way to accomplish better health, performance goals, and improved overall mental well being. Whether on the field or in the boardroom, having a clear, sharp mind will allow you to perform at your very best. Our methodology supports neural plasticity and the maintenance of healthy brain connections so that clients are able to actualize their goals in a multi-faceted manner. We know that everyone can benefit from a higher IQ as it relates to greater knowledge of their brain and body! Meet Alessia McIntosh
Alessia McIntosh, HighQ Owner/Trainer
Alessia McIntosh is a lover of all things movement & wellness related and a lifelong sports enthusiast. She holds a degree in Psychology with Honors from the University of Miami along with her MBA from George Washington University, and after having owned and run a boutique fitness studio for 5 years, is excited to bring together two of her passions: movement and the brain. Alessia has obtained several movement, exercise, and applied neurology certifications, and is currently a doctoral student in Sport and Performance Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. |
As a former competitive tennis player, Alessia understands efficiency from both a training and athletic perspective, which helps her athletes to meet their performance goals. Alessia lives in the DC Metro area with her 4 sports/music-playing children (ages 7, 9, 13, & 14) and her husband, Rocky. In her free time, you can find this energetic go-getter attending pro or amateur (her children's) sporting events, reading, moving her body, or coming up with fun ways to challenge the brain!
